For those of you who have not tried Julie (aka Mainegg) new ABT Dip recipe you are really missing out.
http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_recipes&Itemid=71&func=detail&id=1158
I have made it twice now and everyone has raved about it. The only change I make (and you can be creative just like with ABT's) is I put a jar of sweet/hot salsa (usually pineapple or peach) on top of the cream cheese.
Give this recipe a try at your next gathering...it is da bomb...thanks Julie for coming up with the idea.

That does look good!
Simple to fix and delicious, I don't do many cooks for more than 6-8 people, but ABT's fo even that many can be time consuming. This is a great alternative!
Thanks

Kim ... I don't know how I missed this recipe but it sounds great. Thank you (and Julie) for the post!
-
I cut this by less than half and did it for 4 people. I cooked in the mini using an 8" CI skillet...serve with bagel chips and ritz...it lasted about 10 minutes....

Dale,
It doesn't photograph real well so I imagine a lot of people missed it. I fixed it for the NGE gathering this weekend and they all wanted the recipe. So I figured give Julie her due and make a point of the recipe. It will be a big hit I am sure.... :P
how is the pecan holding out for you??? -
It is a good one. I did this for a NFL playoff game this past season and it was a hit. I couldn't do regular ABT's since all the peppers I found were either too small or just horrible looking. A great alternative. I also used my CI skillet and served it with tostitos scoops and fritos scoops. I will definitiely be doing this again!

I can attest to the deeliciousness.
I enjoyed it at the recent gathering and plan to make it myself soon.
Thanks Kim & Julie! -
Glad you liked it
I need to try the salsa idea! love the sweet spicy combo -
I wish I got to try it. It sure looked good.

I can verify that Vidalia1's version was GOOD!!
-
Are you the one that ate it all before I got to try it?
-
Teaches me a lesson about forgetting my camera.
-
To get that sweet/hot combo, I add half a jar of apricot preserves to the top before baking. It is a fabulous dip and I too get rave reviews. Thanks Mainegg!
-
It was that Greek fellow that ate it all....
 :silly: :pinch: :cheer: -

That's BS! I had 4-5 crackers with it. I had to save room for the chicken legs.
