Boy, did I lay an Egg, or what? As I wrote earlier this week, I bought my Dad an egg, medium, for Fathers Day. I thought I'd surprise him. Called him this evening and asked him how he would like an Egg . He said NO! He's going to be 81 this year and says he wouldn't use the thing. :pinch: He said he'd rather come to my house ..or my sisters'..and eat our egged food! Long story short, my wife and I now have 5 Eggs! It's just the 2 of us, for cryin' out loud. Egad. Garage sale, anyone? :woohoo:

Don't they say, "No good deed goes unpunished"? And just "who" are "they"??? Either way, you will still feed him.

Oh well. Maybe you have an egg at his house so you can egg some food there. My dad is in his 80's as well but he gets frustrated when things don't go his way to the point that it's not worth it. Good luck with your light bulb. :) Tim

what's wrong with 5 eggs for 2 ppl? I have 3 for just me. Ya'll have less per capita than I do.....of course.....there are others on this forum that are like "us" now. Yes I am talking about egghoarders. Apparently there is gonna be a show on Discovery channel called........."EGGHOARDERS" It is a sickness, ya know?
  • I got ya beat Metalhead - I've got 4 and it's just me!

And here I thought my first egg, a large, was overkill for just me. Then came the mini. Who knows what's next. :)

As for the original issue, you could always just leave it at your dad's house so you'd have something to cook on when you visit. Even if HE never uses it. Or, assuming you bought it new, couldn't you return it?

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

You're pretty dim if you think we haven't figured out that your plan was to end up with that Medium all along,

Your Dad's a smart man!

My Dad was cut from similar cloth, he gave me the family sail boat, a 17' day sailer. I was doing all the work on it anyways. He knew I would keep it at the house and he would still have free use of it. No dummy there!

You get an A for effort anyways.

Carolina Q, I like the idea of leaving an egg at his house :) That's why I feel like a dim bulb sometimes. I should have thought of that!

just the opposite here. My dad's 88 and I bought him and myself one for Christmas. He uses his more than I do. Just left his house an hour ago after he fixed my wife and I supper.
