Over the 4th of July weekend, we decided to try some of Chucks' Garlic Knots that he made at the Waldorf Eggefest. What a great recipe (you can find it in the Waldorf Eggfest 04 Cookbook on the the naked whiz's site).[p]The dough recipe was brain dead simple with a bread machine and Hippy Chick helped tie the doughknots. We popped them on the pizza stone for 10 minutes at 450 and they came out great. The dough is the same for his Stromboli's too. Very cool![p]
knots.jpg[p]AFterwards, they were tossed in a olive oil, garlic, parsely mixture and we sprinked romano and parmesean cheeses over eh.[p]

looks good ed!!. . .i know we loved the stromboli when we made them, and i understand that you can use the same dough recipe for pizza. .. haven't tried that yet, but we plan on it. ..it oughta be excellent for pizza as well. ..[p]nice having a helpful teenage daughter on occasion, isn't it??

Thanks![p]Yep, teenage daughters can be helpful on occasions (grin). After we rolled the dough out for the first batch, it became obvious that we found our pizza dough recipe. The bread machine makes it extremely simple. I just waited till it stopped and then I put it in a bowl and covered it with a kitchen towel for an hour like my Mom used to do.[p]Great dough for making some great food on the egg. I also inverted the placesetter and put the pizza stone on the grid like Chuck recommends. It worked out great.[p]Cheers

SmokinBoB,[p]I did too at first. Click on info central, then click on cookbooks for ceramic cookers. The link is below for a quicker way.[p]http://www.nakedwhiz.com/cookbooks.htm

mad max beyond eggdome,[p]I really need to get my daughter helping out. What is the secret? I can only get her to eat food off the BGE and you guys actually get yours to help...I must be doing something wrong. Maybe the key is "teenage" mine just turned 21, man I feel old. Give the pizza a try some time and let me know what you think. [p]Say hi to Spawn for me.[p]Chuck

    GrillMeister,
Will someone tell me how to make the PDF pages (Naked Whiz's recipe on his website) printable? I guess they are read-only, and I am not computer-savvy enough to know how to get a printed copy off them. Help! and thanks.

  • Chuck,
hi guy. . .its one of the few things we seem to be able to do without a fight or battle... . she is a pleasure to 'egg' with (actually, cook in general) .. .if you saw my post about the fourth of july. . . she spent the whole afternoon with nature boy conjuring up things on the eggs. . .i'll take these moments whenever/wherever i can find them. . .[p]yep, we will do the pizza soon i hope. . .[p]

Judy Mayberry,[p]You first need Acrobat Reader. You can download that at the link below if needed. Then I would go back to the Naked Whiz's site and Right Click on the cookbook and then select "Save Target As". You then can select where to save the PDF file and you can name it what you want. Once the download is completed, you can double click on the file and it will open in Acrobat Reader.[p]Now you are read to print. If you just want to print the Garlic Knots recipe, then click on FILE, then PRINT so the print dialog box pops up. Now select PRINT RANGE and put in pages 15 to 16 and click the print button.[p]That should do it.
