  • Nature Boy, Mrs PUJ did this at Eggtoberfest 2 years ago and have to say this is the finest food I ever put in my mouth. It was totally AWESOME...The batter: 6 apples cut in wedges,peeled/ 1 cup unbleached all purpose flour / 3/4 cup sugar/ 2 eggs / 1/2 melted cup butter/ 1 tsp vanilla extract /1/2 tsp cinnamon/ 1/4 tsp nutmeg / 1/4 tsp allspice.... Smear a 10 inch cast iron skillet with butter , sides and bottom. prinkle sides and bottom with cinnamon sugar. Cut the apple wedges and put them all in the skillet. In a bowl, mix all the cake batter til smooth and pour over the apples evenly. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon sugar.... THE DRIZZEL... 1/2 shot glass amber rum / 1 cup maple syrup... Bake the cake in the egg at 420 degrees for 40 to 50 mins. Use a plate setter with pizza stone and short kiln posts under the skillet which sits on the stone. Cake is done when a toothpick comes out clean. Flip the cake onto a serving platter, wait 20 minutes, and pour the warm drizzel over it. If Puj and /or Mrs Puj is going to do this at Eggfest save me a place!!!!
