Ok. Where is Beli when you need him!! Get to that in a minent. Mother in law came to visit yesterday. Worked graveyards Thanksgiving so we had our familys Friday. Duck and dressing along with the triditional XL yard bird and a fresh ADP! ;)

Today we wanted something differant. Wife and mother in law henc forth called "Maw" wanted a stake. Easy enough. Just run to my butcher friend and grab a day old rib eye out of the cooler. Maw doesnt like ANY pink in her food. Wants them to stand straight out stiff when you grab them by the edge! :pinch: No use spending 12 to 15 bucks for something you are going to ruin so picked her up a ribeye from Brookshires. All right. Most of the regulars know I'm not a big cow eater. I can take it or leave it but I love me some pork product. A few days ago my boss told me the one and only local Mexican grocery had all kinds of marinated meats to grill in it. For the last 3 or 4 years its has been only Mexicans that shop there but word is getting around and gringos are starting to go there. Loving pork, spice and "real" Mexican food I fired the Harley and rode to town to check it out. Walked in and was in heaven. Peppers everywhere, spicie looking meats and sausages in refrig. show cases and everything spotless just like I expected. One problem. No one spoke a word of English. My Spanish consist of about 20 words tops. Walked to counter and cute little senureta smiled and said some'en bobbing her head. I smiled back asked if she spoke English and she smiled, said something in Spanish and bobed her head. Ok lets try some'en else. I hold one finger up on my left hand and say "Uno" then hold up my right hand and say "doec" then draw a line in the air between the two hands and say "pound and a half" and point to the the carnitas meat. Cute senureta smiles big, bobs her head and starts to put the meat in a bag. Relieved and smile and watch. By the time she finnishes I have 3 lbs of meat in a bag. Uno pluse doec equals trish. :pinch: Well that didn't go so well but at least I will not go hungry for a spell. Next I pointed at the Chorizo. I knew this was a spicie Mexican sausage and being the quick learner that I am I held up one finger and said "uno". Had heard they make fresh sausa and tryed to inquire to which some young guy grabs a bottle of some hot sause and shows it to me much to the amusement of his friends. I wanted to tell him that I could eat peppers what would probably kill everyone in the store but since he couldnt understand a word I said I just bobed my head, smiled and paid another cute senureta at the regester. Where is Beli when I need him!! OK the raws:

Wanted me roasted onion so just whacked one in half, doused it in EvOO and sprinkled with DP's Redeye. Wrapped in foil leaving top open and tossed on indirect at 325 along with the chorizo and a chunk of hickory for about 45 min.

Next I put the carnita meat in the EVOO cast iron and broke the chorizo sausage up in it cooking direct at about 300 for 20 min. with a chunk of presimmon.

Thanks Jeff. As bill who posted below well knows me and Zippy eat peppers that really are not ment to be eaten. I can assure you there was nothing in that store that would have botherd me to eat. On of the guys held up a serento pepper and smiled which is about like a bell pepper to me!LOL
