The time is quickly approaching for Farmer John's little Eggfest in the country to be held on Saturday, August 16.[p]Farmer John will be supplying all of the chickens........ now these aren't your regular industry raised in a shoebox and force fed up to 10% solution and hormone chickens.......... these are happy, I will dance my way into your egg, pastured chickens.[p]And if there's enough interest, he'll slaughter a fatted pig for folks to cook up all nice and purty like. If so, some folks can arrive Friday and start cooking large pig parts for the throw down on Saturday.[p]There will be a number of eggs to cook on, beer for drinkin and camping facilities located right there on the farm.
It's my understanding that locals will also be showing up with home grown produce, baked goods and appetites .......... all in all a good old fashioned summer celebration in the beautiful setting of a pastural Poconos farm. [p]A website will be up in a few days to give all of the particulars.[p]Hope to see you there........ I'll be the one dancing with the chickens!

WooDoggies,[p]I would like to suggest something a little different for this Eggfest.
Being that chicken is the theme and will be supplied...how about we have a chicken contest? Make it bit more interesting this time around. And prizes dont have to be huge....maybe an accessory or just a prize of 1st place would be god enough for me. That way every year we can strive for best chicken![p]How about it?[p]ST

Smokin' Todd,[p]Do you mean cooked chicken or the best live chicken that can actually dance? This whole thing sounds like it could be interesting. Gimme the scoop when where ?

Smokin' Todd,[p]Sounds good to me ...... a little friendly competition is good for the soul.
As I am just a messenger, I will pass your thoughts along to the organizing fellas.[p]If you've got a specialty you'd like to cook then, by all means, bring that along. Those sazon ribs you did in Waldorf went like free money and I was left out in the cold when it came to getting a sample![p]John

    WooDoggies,
I plan on being there with the twins and maybe even a nephew and/or niece. I am pumped. Hard to imagine a better weekend than camping on a working farm in the beautiful mountains of PA. Throw in a bunch of really cool folks, fresh raised meat, a bunch of green eggs....and some beer....and my brain aint gotta work too hard on this decision!! [p]Should be a good turnout...I mean, who would not want to do this??[p]Heee!
