I cooked some'en: Eyes and butts

First for my regular viewers the last simi finals for the "Unemployment beer" search. Tonights winner takes on Bud Ice and Natural Ice in the finnals. The contestants tonight are Miller glass and Old Millwalkie.

Since I consider neather truly cheap beer I placed them togeather. Both were truly drinkable with there own points. Miller was a lighter, crisper flaver while OM was a malter heaver brew. Really like glass and the pin up on the Miller bottle is great but being a dark beer drinker by choice got to go with the heaver OM to move on to the finnal.
Now to the cook. Started out today smoking two 5 lb butts. One for me and wife and one for my mother-in-law with my house rub.

Really poured the hickory and presimmon to these. Got to love the grill lifter my weilder ridding partner made for me. Even hooked on the edge of grill it still balances great to allow me to toss in another chunk of wood.

Cooked at 275 to internal temp of 165.

Next up a few ribeyes for supper. Alittle Dales and Tony's for me and wife and salt and pepper w/ a little oregino for Mother in law.

A little garlic bread..

And supper is served. Jake approved of course. Heated a cooked ham on the Egg last night. One night a year I get out of cooking some'en!!

no peppers?? Looks good as usual JL. I still have to laugh every time I see your cat in the kennel

What is with the cat in the kennel? I look at the posts all the time and have always wondered. We have two eclectus parrots and I love how involved Jake is in your house. Nanday conures (if that is what Jake is) sure have alot of personality! Does he talk much? Your dinner looked great. :cheer:
-
Every one wants to know about Andy in the pen. He got off across the road hunting food and got shot. Pulled a .22 out of his shattered shoulder. To keep him safe he's trained to walk to the "cat pen" when I let him out in the mornings and back to the house when I let him out in the evening. Sleeps between my arm and side at night. Rotten! Also knows Jake is off limits. Andy in lap and Jake on shoulder. Eclectus are beautiful!! Never had any dealings with them though. All Jake does is scream. Never talked in 20 years. He will cluck and chatter to us on our shoulder but no talking. Free flight of the house and house broke. Goes back to cage for that so no worry about "extras" on the plate!!

Nice & Vast as usual JL. Felicidades!!!

House broke is good or that could add all new meaning to salad dressing
The cat is funny and always looks so sad, even though I know he isn't lol. our mouseykat is an out side girl and she goes to FL with us and has to be an inside cat there. But she is fine with it. it is like she just knows and doesn't even ask to go out. up here in Maine she lives to hunt and wants out!
I love the lifter I had to add lump to the large egg at work when I was doing the butts the other day and I hate setting the grate with the meat on the counter. messy to clean and it just bothers me on the food thing. are those available anywhere? -
It good to see you only have to cut corners with the beer and not the beef. Those are some nice rib eyes.

JL, sorry to see my pony go down :(happy in the hut

Bet the Mother-in-law was happy! Nice work.
Always liked the gal swinging on the moon. My father worked for Millers so I was drinking it before I turned 13. With moderation of course.
Really. -
We have a 12 year old female that we raised as a dog. Lived inside most of the time, ran limb lines in the boat with us, swam in the river with us (only weighs about 4 lbs and always afraid a gar would get her so kept he close!) took shower with me, ect. She just never really liked inside. We bring her in on real cold nites but drives my wife crazy running back and forth. Hech of a mouser though!lol Hides behind a shed corner and when Andy comes in the evenings she runs up behind him and swats him in rear. He knows he's not allowed to vear from the "trail" so cant retaliate. When we do bring her in its payback time!! Hems her up under a bed and the fur flys!!! 4LBS for her 18 lbs for him!
The grill lifter is one of a kind. We talked about him making some for sale but the cost would be more than most would want to spend. Hear is a close up the lifter if you can get some one to make it.
Took this last week. She still loves water!

Be of good cheer Zip. I liked the Miller and will be on the short list. Only find it in the six pack hear which drives up the cost and is a crisper beer than I like as a go to. I do love the pin up. Will probably be my "special company" beer!!
