Mali's "Gourmet" lump

SUCKS.
Tried to do a little blackened Catfish last night and used a new bag of Mali's. Fireworks rivaling the opening ceremony of the Olympics on lighting with a propane torch, glad I had my glasses on. This is what it looked like after 40 mins. Note the sparks and all the ash in the CI pan. NOT RECOMMENDED!

Well, since you mention it, about 6 years ago, Wal*Mart sold "lump" from China! It was extruded charcoal, like the extruded coconut that Kamado sells. However, it wasn't coconut, I'm pretty sure, but rather extruded hardwood charcoal.The Naked Whiz
