The good Lord has truley blessed me as both mine are 70 years old and active. Mom walks 2 miles in 31 min. each day and Dad hunted 54 out of 60 days duck hunting last year but I can tell its getting hard for him. I try to see them twice a week. I know this day had to bring back memories for you with the service your dad did. Hope you had the boys with you today.

the boys were home this weekend and i cooked for them, fed mom breakfast sat. and sunday. kind of hungover sunday... mom [dementia] says 'what is wrong with your eyes'
we [as a culture] forget how much the women who waited and worked gave to the effort. mom waited almost 4 years for dad to come home, he sent 1/2 his pay to my mom to save in case he made it back and the other half to his mom as his father was ill . i would be proud to be half the man he was ..... thanks for the kind words

Nice spread, man! Bet everyone was happy and full after a lunch like that!

I'm so tired now. Shut the vents on both eggs at 8PM tonight after getting started last night at midnight. Lots of family over, not too much food left. Hitting a brick wall right now, but will post a little bit later.

    Have a good evening!

Proud of him and bill sure you gave him many other big satisfactions instead of cooking for him at the time.
We have a saying in Spanish " De tal palo tal astilla" literally meaning from such wood such a splinter. Sorry when I´m tired my english doesn´t come as easy. Saludos!!

Be proud of spending time with your folks. I'd give my right arm to spend 15 mins with my Dad. God bless you all and your parents.

Your English might need a touch of work but their meaning and timing are spot on! ;)
