My first BGE experience, ribs, and I'm BORED!
I just got my XL BGE yesterday and using it for the first time today.[p]So the baby backs have been on for about 2.5 hours now, the dome temp has been at 240-250 with only a very minor amount of tweaking of the lid, and this is just too easy, there has to be a catch....[p]Mind you now I haven't acually eaten the ribs yet (or seen them in 2.5 hours for that matter) but I can't believe how easy it is to control the temp. An ever so small movement of either the top or bottom vent and the temp moved from 240-250+, then I barely bumped it a little more closed and it settled right at 250. I keep going outside to check it and its still at 250. The wife and I even set up some chairs around it with a few Michelobs and even set the radio on but with no fire to tend or turning the meat, we came back inside to the air conditioning and internet. [p]My few previous experiences with smoking/barbequing have been with a bullet type setup and lots of tending, stoking, shielding from wind, and "playing with things."[p]Oh well, the final test is in the taste. I've been poking around to see how I actually want to finish things off and I think I may get the sauce on a little sooner than what I'm reading here, ala Carsons Ribs at ribs.com. I have one last bottle of their sauce and it's my favorite.

Celtic Wolf,
The egg is a parasite breeder.
-
dhuffjr,[p] Now, Now is that any way to talk about your neighbors???
-
mb168,
Actually there is one catch. It comes at the end when you have to fight off the neighbors from eating all your ribs. It can be exhausting, so rest up knowing that you purchased the "real deal" when it comes to cooking! Enjoy!

Celtic Wolf,
Some of them...LOL....actually I'm totally kidding. I enjoy having a crowd over. We just had the wife's parents and her sister's family over tonight. Kinda low key for us and a "cooking holiday".[p]H
