Cooking in the embers & Raichlen's new book

Mary and I bought the new Steve Raichlen book, HOW TO GRILL. In the boook he mentions the BGE--there is actually a picture of it.[p]The book is filled with pictures and wonderful recipes. It would be a great book for the beginning griller/smoker/egger. Seasoned veterans can also find some good ideas, as his recipes are wonderful.[p]One thing I hadn't thought of before with the BGE was cookin in the ember, or coals. Raichlen mentions doing foods such as onions, potatoes andd sweet potatoes in the coals, direct, without foil.[p]We did this the other night in our small BGE with the main course on the grid. It worked out great. We lost a bit of the taters due to scorching, but they tasted great.[p]Try it, you will feel like youo are camping. :-)[p]Fritz
