Waaaaaaaay back when someone (RRP or Rhum&Jerk or{?}) mentioned chasing those hard seeds thru the kitchen using a pestal. I found a unique one in the King Arthur Catalog, called a spice grinder.
Its a hollowed out round in a marble base, with a matching round masher that fits the round bottom..Best way I can describe it. but a perfect match. And it does the number on those hard round spices or peppercorns that you have a dickens of a time mashing in a standard pestal and base. Just put on some pressure and rock it a round.[p]Also, I ordered and use the neat little "butter bell" It's a French idea that keeps butter fresh as a refrigerator at room temperatures. Great for buttering my "french bread"..
Cheers to ya all, where every ya are..!!
