Chubby's GrateMates
Spring Chicken
Posts: 10,255
Things are happening fast here at the Chicken Ranch in anticipation of leaving for Fredericksburg on Tuesday morning for a nice evening under the Texas Stars with Lawn Ranger and his friends. [p]My small Egg arrived just in time for me to practice a couple of dishes on it and make the transporter for the drive west. I should finish it up today. [p]Then last night, in spite of a pouring rain, the ChubbMeister himself delivered his famous GrateMates so that I would have them in time to oven-bake them according to his instructions. He even gave us a demo of how they are to be installed. And he did all of this while in pain and discomfort due to a serious problem with his leg. What a guy...[p]It's supposed to be 70° and clear again today and perfect for cooking something else on the small that is South Beach Diet friendly.[p]Gotta do my exercises now to help keep those 240 ounces off. Spring Chicken,[p]finally dropped another 16 ounces as of this morning. The total since Halloween is now 624 with another 176 to go by memorial day (hopefully). [p]This puts me 32 ounces lighter than when I came home from college 16 years ago. That's almost surreal to me. [p]Continued good luck to everyone that's tracking those disappearing ounces.[p]Dos "Wish I was in Fredericksburg" Huevos

Dos Huevos,
As they say in the Louisiana Sugar Mills, "Congranulations!" [p]I'm 6' 3" and I don't think I'll ever get down to the "ideal" weight for my length = 175 to 195. In fact I think I would probably look sickly. But when I dropped to 255 a couple of zillion calories ago I looked good, felt good and had plenty of energy. So if I can get down to that weight I'll be happy. Anything under that will just be icing on the cake (pun intended).[p]Now for a short trip on the treadmill and I'll be finished for the day.[p]Spring "Holding At -240 Ounces" Chicken

Dos Huevos,[p]It is a good feeling when you are able to reach the size you were "back in the day". I too had a similar thought. I have to go to a black tie optional fund raiser tonight and as I was going thru my dressier clothes I found that the only suit in my closet that comes close to being small enough is the Tux I bought in college (1985 or so). The smallest pair of suit pants is at least 3 if not 4 sizes too big. Keep up the good work. It has taken me over 2.5 years to do it but I am down a total of 1112 ounces in that time.[p]JNK

JNK,[p]Great work man. As they say, you didn't put it on in a day so you won't take it off in a day either. [p]My 20th high school reunion is in the fall, and I desperately want to be sub-200 for that. If I hit that goal, folks would ask if I were anorexic or bulemic then. (not making light of either for those I may offend).[p]Dos "an ounce at a time" Huevos

Spring Chicken,
My life long friend whom I'm house/dog sitting for here in Fl. is 6' 5" and used to weigh in at 240 to 270, well about a year ago he, his wife and daughter started doing one of the low carb high protein diets, his average weight is now 200 to 210 and he is consistent with it. I could not believe the difference in how he looks.[p]Good luck, sounds like you're on the right track. Go easy into the treadmill workout and keep us posted.[p]Cheers,
New Bob
Holding steady at 1,824 oz.

New Bob,
Good for your friend. My treadmill trips, as I like to call them, are just 15 minutes long @ 2.5 mph on a 6° incline. As I get in better shape I will gradually move it up to about 3.2 mph and steeper inclines. Finally, I will make use of the programmed programs that change the speed and incline. By then I'll be in pretty good shape for a moldy but oldie.[p]Spring "Waisting Away In One Margaritaville" Chicken
