KennyG,
Glad you got it for the right price.

KennyG,[p]It looks like one, stands like one, and presumably smokes like one. [p]But exactly how does this differ from "THE ONE." Explain![p]Anthony

KennyG,
Been looking at one of those little beauties at my local dealers. I'm green with envy[p]Carey

KennyG,
Take off her little green cap, Then her throat/neck -
A mini 9" grill will fit right on top. NOW Cook stuff![p]Some of my most jaded friends, (people like you, KennyG) continue to comment about how great those spur-of-the-moment burgers are on the BGChiminea.
-
Cooking with all wood is worth trying. What a great flavor you get....and a lot of fun.
I need me one of dem chimineas.
Cheers

Nature Boy,
I haave a cousin who sells a grillion terra.cotta chimineas to "HOME"-type? stores each year. Ou first chiminea became overheatedt & cracked, was later mended and then BACKED OVER.[p]Our BGE chiminea is really small but can crank out a lot of heat. It is perfect. Larger would be more perfect

Anthony Up North,[p]Same ceramic construction in a thinner wall design. The spec sheet claims it can handle 1400* but I don't intend to push that envelope. As an added bonus, as Julie mentioned, you can cook on it as well.[p]Maybe LGC (little green chiminea) bratwursts tonite, washed down with a nice corkfree wine, if I can find some firewood.[p]K~G
-
KennyG,
We love steaks, brats and burgers cooked on our chiminea. Our tri pod is taller than yours, they must have modified the original design.
-
JJ,[p]Do you burn lump when you cook in it or just firewood?[p]K~G
-
KennyG,
I have used both but prefer just wood. I use charcoal mainly when it cool outside and I am using the Chiminea has a deck heater.
-
JJ,[p]Good point. I picked this up primarily for party ambiance and use as a deck heater. Have you had a problem with flying sparks and embers?[p]K~G
-
KennyG,
I sure have. I am working on a screen cover much like a fireplace screen to cure the problem.
-
KennyG,[p]Flying embers has prevented me from getting one. My deck needs no more of that. The screen front would be a nice addition and should be fairly simple to fit (with your skills - not mine, I would use duct tape). [p]I was at a store the other day and saw a cast iron chimnea type thing. I could only imagine how hot that cast iron would get and how badly it would burn anyone or anything that inadvertently touched it. Ouch!! I assume the ceramic gets warm but won't burn. [p]Tim

JJ,
Keep that thing away from Idaho!! hehe.[p]Just talked to the ranger out there, and they are at a stage 2 fire ban. No campfires. They also have a ban on smoking cigarettes unless you are in your car or a building. No power tools to cut trees during the day. They DO let you cook on propane or LP stoves luckily. Sounds like they mean business. She said they have never gone to Stage 3 alert, but that it is pretty bad this year.[p]Glad we will be mostly above treeline.[p]Cheers
