Sam's Club - Spatchcocked Chicken, Nashville Hot

Well boys, today I saw a pre-cut spatchcocked chicken at Sam's that was seasoned Nashville Hot.  I just had to try it.  Any of you boys tried this yet? I don't recall seeing it here before.  Cooked it indirect at 400.

The skin had a good, spicy hit, but the meat under the skin was standard chicken.  All in all, it was pretty good.  It's the first time I've purchased a chicken pre-cut the spatchcock way instead of having to do it myself.  I'd definitely buy it again.  Just wondering if anyone else has tried it?

This was a good post.  It deserved more of a response.

  • Agree. And if I can find one anywhere near me I assure you there will be one on my egg the same day. I’ve checked closest Sams to me and thy don’t have it. Do you think injecting some kind of hot sauce would make inside match outside? A mild sauce to match the flavor.

Original style Nashville hot chicken (Prince's, Boltons, etc) is breaded and fried and coated with the heat level required via a spiced slurry.
