117 degree high for Father's Day Cook

I saw the temps rise to 117 here in Chandler AZ and we're getting more of the same today.  The hot temps didn't stop the cookout which we kept simple for once.  Baked 8 frozen pizzas and some chicken lollipops.  First time baking pizzas on the egg and they were excellent!  Albertsons had their brand on sale for $2.99 each and that made for a very inexpensive way to feed a bunch of kids.

I installed misters on the pool umbrellas and had plenty of cold beer and mojitos to keep all the parents cool.

Those temps are wicked!  The egg has to be crazy efficient at holding temp with minimal fuel consumption with the ambient temp that high. Stay hydrated.

The egg stayed hot for a long time after I shut it down.

Cripes, on a hot day way north in Indiana, my dome therm sometimes reads 160 in the summer.

If it wasn't pizza, but steak, it would be done rare just carrying it outside  and letting it sit in the sun for 10 minutes.

If you are looking at doing a more home made pizza Oregano's will sell you balls of their dough for a buck a piece.

I'll definitely be making some homemade pies soon.  My herb garden is producing a lot of basil right now and I love a good margarita pizza.

I passed thru Pheonix yesterday, We de-planed on the tarmac. I can confirm.....It was brutal ly hot. Cudos to you for not letting it impact your day.

Where abouts in chandler?  We lived on the ocotillo golf course before moving over by San tan mall.
