Baby's got her dancing shoes on!

A shout out to the folks who first put shoes on their Mini-Maxes and took the time to document what they did:

It was great to not have to start the thinking process all over again.  I pursued their write-ups several times.  Then talked to Blake about how the extra lift solves some of the radiated heat problems.  Then added some thoughts of my own to come up with evolution #4:

I thought the horizontal tips on the nest legs were a little too small to fully support a small pad, thus wanted to add some additional support.  Plus, I wanted to contribute towards protecting anything that the egg sat on from it's radiated heat.  The addition of a "heat shield" effectively solved both problems ... I think!

My local, small-town roads & streets department gave me two "No Parking" signs that they were scrapping.  The sign material is a hardened aluminum that is 0.080" thick ... perfect.  Well, almost perfect ... the sign was 12" wide and 12-1/8" would have been perfect, but for the price it worked great.  Cut the left-to-right dimension at 12-1/8 inches and that worked out well.  Softened the reflective surface with my weed burner and scraped it off.  Used Goof-Off and steel wool to remove the adhesive.

After contemplating 3/4" grade 8 bolts, I finally followed RickyBobby's lead and settled for 1/4-20 stainless steel button head bolts.  Hunted up some vibration dampers (Amazon.com) with molded in backing plates.  They're one inch in diameter and only 3/4" in height, but with the "No Parking" shield that should be enough height.

The nest is much more flexible than you'd think, so the layout was a little more difficult.  But, that flexibility also covered up small mistakes.  Here's what the final assembly looks like:
