What's a used large worth?

Selling my large. Columbia, SC. There is a piece of green enamel missing on base from when I removed from nest and plastic melted to it. 

Whats a fair price for a used large. Bought new in March of 2012. 

Going through a divorce so it's something that needs to go for now. I'll buy another once this is all done.

Sorry to hear this. Wish I was in a better position, I'd make you an offer. Hopefully some of the other locals will chime in though.

IMO I wouldn't pay over 400 dollars for it. It doesn't come with a lifetime warranty. I'm sure someone out there would pay 5-600 for it though.

Sorry about the familial situation.  Unfortunately the value in the egg is not in the re-sale, but in the warranty.

I would guess around 350-400.

A local dealer is selling a brand new large for $699.  $350-400 for a used would be a good price.

Just went through a divorce as well, my egg was listed in my settlement !

For any egg, I would say 1/2 of retail is a pretty good price.  I am not sure what a mini goes for these days, but at GA Mountain eggfest they were listed at $389 with nest.  I would start at about $200. 

I hope you get your eggs back one day and if not I hope you keep posting regardless of what you are cooking on.

FWIW, I picked up a used L and cedar table last month for $700. Figured each was worth 350 to me.

When I got my large, bought it used from a guy going through a divorce.  I happily paid his $500 asking price for the egg, grates, setter, rib rack, cypress table, tools, implements, stones, etc.  Still rockin' today (minus the grate that cracked).

Although my firebox cracked this summer, I have no complaints for buying used.  I'll get a new one someday if this one ever goes kaput, but it was a good starter for me.
