Did I ruin my lid

Getting my egg ready for the next cook today. And the lid came out. Luckily it didn't fall to the ground. I did though have little spots left from where the bolts were. Is this bad?

I wouldn't worry about it & keep them ^$^&& bolts tight.

Not to get technical, but according to chemistry alcohol is a solution...

  • You'll be fine, just get the bands/hinge reassembled and you will be ready to go. Keep those bands tight! You kinda dodged a bullet there bud.

If the cosmetic part bothers you it will darken in time or you could see if your dealer has any BGE touch up paint. Yes, Virginia, I know the green is ceramic glaze and not paint, but BGE knows slit happens! If they don't carry any then tale your rain bonnet to an artsy-crafty store and in the acrylic paint section you can find a near perfect match!
