Kenji's ThermoPop Review

Pretty much what folks have said on here. Sure wish they'd had the Pop when I bought my Pen! Might still buy one.

I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Yeah I'm getting one for sure. I have an old non back lit thermapen and I'm not spending another $100. Roswell hardware in GA stocks them can't believe I haven't walked out with one yet.

    .

Just ordered a "Dot" and some probes this morning. They make a great product and stand behind it with customer service if needed...
    Thank you,

Just used mine for the first time last night.  Prior to this all I had was a generic thermometer that spun around till it hit beef, poultry, or pork.  In other words, I was pretty much guessing what the temp was.  Plus it took forever to get there.  Used it on a pork tenderloin last night.  Stuck it in, waited a couple seconds and got a reading.  Finished temp was 150 when I took it off the grill then let it rest.  Juiciest pork loin I have ever done.  Makes cooking so much more precise.  I don't care about the couple of extra seconds I could save by going with the pen.  Saved almost $100...more money left over for some more meat!!
XL BGE, LG BGE, and a hunger to grill everything in sight!!!

Keep meaning to call them and ask if they can mod my splash proof and make it back lit.
The back lit came out about 3 weeks after I ordered non back lit splash proof...lol

Oh well, worth a shot. See below.

Thank you for your recent purchase. Unfortunately there is not a way to retrofit or modify the Splash Proof Thermapen with a backlight.

    Thanks,
