Guy Fieri's beer can chicken
Fluffyb
Posts: 1,815
The Fiance wanted a beer can chicken last night. Wanted to do something different, so found this Guy Fieri recipe:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/guy-fieri/big-buds-beer-can-chicken-recipe/index.html
Made the rub and rubbed the chicken a couple of hours before cooking it. Put in the fridge.
I didn't add as much bacon as it called for...
Put it on the egg at 375 for about 45 minutes before adding the corn & artichokes.
Forgot plated pictures, but this was a delicious chicken! What doesn't taste better with bacon? Loved the rub too.
And for desert, a fresh peach pie. Haven't made a pie in awhile, so not so pretty but OMG, so good.

That is one scrumptious photo essay! Next time chickens are on sale I'm going to try that one. Thank you!
Glad to see you're a coffee press pot user too. You have great taste.Judy in San Diego -
Thanks Molly, it was delicious. Ribs on now!

Thank you Judy. Sent the Fiance to pick up a chicken from Stater Bros. this week for .79 a pound. When I opened the package, it was $1.19 a pound! I hate it when that happens. We've been using the coffee press for years, makes a great cup of joe.

What brand is that press?
Judy, what is the brand of yours?
Thanks ladies.Molly

Mine is a La Cafeteria, I picked it up at Marshall's after I broke our old one that we had for 10 years.

Thanks Ross. The beer I used was the $1.99 a 6 pack Simpler Times Ale from Trader Joes.

Molly, I like to take a REALLY long time over a good breakfast and reading the paper. By the last cup, the coffee was really far gone after sitting on the grounds.
So after years of Bodum and Chambord, I was seduced by a clever invention and now every morning is a little slice of heaven for me. Costly, but handled carefully it's still in perfect condition after at least a year.
When you're done brewing the coffee you simply twist the knob on the top, which seals off the grounds beneath from the brewed coffee above. This means the last cup tastes as good as the first cup. It is double-walled (insulated) so the coffee stays hot (steam rises when you pour!).
Also there's a filter up at the pouring spout in case of errant sediment. I rarely unscrew the bottom filter assembly, just make sure no more coffee grounds show up in the rinsing.
