It's windy...wet, and cold...with a capitol C here in Cypress!!
Nothing like long.., slo cooking to keep the kitchen heated...and smelling good all afternoon long!!
Browned off 4 large Turkey Thighs with Tsunami Spin and pepper...

Set asise and sweated down a heap of shallotts, garlic and onions till soft...(adding the apples after about 6 or 8 minutes)

Once softened...nestle the thighs back in the Dutch Oven and cover with fresh apple cider and chicken stock.

Bring to a boil, cover.., and move to a pre heated 350 degree oven for about 1.5-1.75 hours.
Remove lid...and continue to cook another 30-40 minutes.

The liquid will reduce and the flavors will intensify!!
The thighs, (yes...they're burried under there) will be tender and the apples and onions will have
broken down to a thick, chunky consistancy!!

Stir in a couple good lugs of Calvados...and serve!!
Man...it smells good in here!!
Stay warm!!

WOW! That's out of the park! I bet it's fantastic. The drool factor is off the scale! I think I have done similar with pork chops. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Gator!!
I usually use pork too...but I've had a hankering for Bird lately. So I bought these thighs to egg...but it's just too darn nasty!!! So... it's on to "Plan B"!
For a no brainer recipe...this really was outstanding!!
Tasty with some Sweet Tater fries to be exact!!

Looks so good from here. Is it better with pork or turkey?
Just thought its not all that far from Sauerbraten. And a whole lot faster.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Just given a Mini to add to the herd. -

You could use a "good quality" Apple Cider Vinegar or "fermented" hard Cider" too.
A few tbsps of congnac in a pinch!

Truth is...they're a little different.., but try the turkey!! There's so many other ways to eat pork anyway...(like I need an excuse...lol)!!
