  • Regional/State Favorites?

    I would like to get a thread going related to food and grilling items that are probably only available in your state or region.  For example:

    1. Ozark Oak lump - Arkansas
    2. Tom Boy hot dogs - Nebraska
    3.  Sahlen's hot dogs - New York

    I am asking because as I travel, I would like to pick up these special items.  So what have you got that is really special?  Thanks!


  • Memphis Style PP Coleslaw Recipe

    On my cross country trip last week, we stopped by Mickey's BBQ in St. Louis.  Got the pulled pork sandwich and it had coleslaw on it.  I was a bit hesitant about the coleslaw but once I dug in, I found the sandwich to be one of the best I've ever eaten.  Does anyone have a Memphis style coleslaw recipe to share?

    And if you are passing through St. Louis, stop at Mickey's.  It is right off of I-70 and is wonderful!

    The swing grate accessory that everyone bought last year just doesn't seem to work very well on my XL.  It droops too much and wants to fall over when the grate is swung to the side.  Maybe I'm doing something wrong with it.

    I am going to go against the wisdom of this group and say that the Cowboy I bought last year has worked great.  On the other hand, I have not been able to try either Rockwood or Ozark Oak but would like to, in order to see if they really are superior.  Anyone coming to Colorado this year and care to make a delivery?
