It doesn’t get much hotter than the EGG cookin’ in July! Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with a bit of whatever you’re using for the Beer Can Chicken. Ice Cream Sandwiches are also a great way to stay cool. Looking for some great ideas for a summer cook out? Try out a Pimento Cheeseburger or Dr. BBQ’s Spare Rib Surprise. Just don’t be surprised if your neighbors stop by for a quick bite when they smell what you’re cooking!

Big Green Egg headquarters has moved - come visit our new showroom and check out the museum and culinary center too! 3786 DeKalb Technology Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30340

  • Re: Best tasting chicken I ever cooked

Yep, this looks awesome. I've got some Allegro in the pantry right now, gonna break it out this week. Bookmarking the thread as a reminder.

What were the other cook details? Temp? Raised? Direct? Anything else on it?

    Cheers -

  • Re: Biggest failure so far...

I've said before that I think the welding gloves I bought are the single best Egg accessory Ive ever purchased. I do agree that if they're wet you can get into some steam issues, but I've never had them be unusable.

Sorry to hear about this whole shebang, but glad no injuries or serious property damage occurred; lucky the PS didn't break.

    Cheers -

  • Re: Cooking frozen butt (???)

Did a little digging and found a thread titled:

"Frozen Butt Low and Slow - Retro Style"

Which seems to mostly answer my question. I think I'll leave it to thaw at room temp until this afternoon then put it on low and slow over night. Should be interesting to see what happens.

    Cheers all -

  • Re: Wife bought 90/10 burgers

Chop up some fatty bacon and mix it in. Cook raised, direct, 400.

Or mix in some blue cheese and cook the same way.

Our saute some mushrooms in butter and mix those in.

    Damn, now I want burgers...
