It doesn’t get much hotter than the EGG cookin’ in July! Make sure to keep yourself hydrated with a bit of whatever you’re using for the Beer Can Chicken. Ice Cream Sandwiches are also a great way to stay cool. Looking for some great ideas for a summer cook out? Try out a Pimento Cheeseburger or Dr. BBQ’s Spare Rib Surprise. Just don’t be surprised if your neighbors stop by for a quick bite when they smell what you’re cooking!

Big Green Egg headquarters has moved - come visit our new showroom and check out the museum and culinary center too! 3786 DeKalb Technology Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30340

  • Re: Kick Ash Basket, Anybody got one ?

I have wished for something exactly like this for years! It saves lots of time on cleanouts between cooks. The wires are spaced far enough apart that the small bits of charcoal that can clog up your next fire will fall through when you shake the ash out. If you remove the existing charcoal grate before setting the basket in place, you get better airflow and higher temps than the stock Egg.

I'm thinking of removing one section of wire in the side of the basket to make a slot that I can insert my electric igniter into. I'll just set the basket on top of the cooking grill and start the fire there, then pull out the igniter and set the basket in the firebox.

Best $40 I ever spent on BGE accessories.
