While I agree that espn generally sucks, I will point out that espn made Dan Patrick and unless you're not planning on watching the game Monday night, which espn is airing, it is not really that useless. Lots of great sporting events are on there.
It's amazing that the game isn't on a national station, but ESPN got it and no doubt very happy.  Probably will be the most watched college football game in history.

Thought you didn't care for football?  Or are you just going for the comment in every thread record?

I.D. I never said I didn't like football.  I said professional football is a contest to see who has the richest owner.  No regional loyalties from the players whatsoever.  As you move down the line, the "local boys" are playing for their hometowns and state, culminating with high school football.  If you look at the Houston Texan's roster, you'll see that 4 out of 53 players went to college in Texas.  That's a whopping 7.5%

Johnny Manziel was born in Tyler Texas, and moved to Kerville Texas, where he played high school football.  He was offered full scholarships at many out of state schools but chose Texas A&M.

I realize that N.D. is a religious school, so regional loyalties probably don't mean anything to you.  And that's OK.  I just hope you see my point.
For some reason I thought you stated you didn't care for football in a thread. My bad. I certainly understand loyalties and also understand Texas produces the best football players in US - which means they are well repped in the NFL just spread out.

ESPN hasn't always sucked.  It's a general direction that they are heading in recently.
ESPN has become more focused on being a checkout lane tabloid and farther away from pure sports.
I agree with you comttrly, they seem to try to hard to be the cool hip sorts network and forget that sports doesn't need the ESPN hype machine.
