Also looking at the egg in the corner, it might be hard to adjust the lower vent.
The gap in front of the XL is 14" wide, I think that should be plenty of room to reach in and adjust. Is there something I'm not seeing?

Also the plan is to build some type of structure over the entire island to minimize the amount of rain that hits it.
It's also a pretty long reach to the handle, especially when the dome is up.  I pulled mine forward with a diagonal face.

Don't short yourself on counter space.  It looks a little pinched around the sink and large egg.

I thought long and hard about a gas grill, too.  Once I got the first egg, I never lit the gasser, not even for a quick cook.  SWMBO has only fired up the grill a few times in 25+ years.  I didn't even install one in "my" kitchen.

I've noticed a lot of people are using the table nests with their large eggs. Have we gone away form the feet or placing in directly on granite or ceramic?
Not sure you can get feet anymore.  Nest works well.  I like some airspace under the egg.  Not sure I'd want to place directly on a nice piece of stone as I've seen pictures of cracked pavers.

Full Sail tap handle.  Can't fault that.
  • Re: How to grill with BGE? Is it worth it?

I've got a Weber gas grill hooked up to natural gas.  14 years old and still works fine.  Haven't fired it up since getting the egg a couple years ago.  Makes a great storage cabinet.

If you ask my family, everything tastes better from the Egg.
  • Re: Second Egg

Today, I'm thinking another large.  I eliminated a gasser as a second grill from consideration about a week after getting my large because even if I'm cooking dogs, I'm lighting lump.

I thought about an XL.  I've considered a Primo, too.  Something about the symmetry of two larges.
