Not sure what you are talking about. I don't have a Challenger cabinet. I do make stainless cabinets and tables for Green Eggs and other cookers. Can you show me a picture or a link to it? I probably made it

I think only you can assess the fire threat based on where your egg will be sitting. Granted a metal table will not burn, but waiting a while to save money for a Cadillac when a Focus can get you to the store just as get my point?
    You could dress up the wooden table with some nice features and save for something down the road

    Seems about the size of a sink cut out, should be plenty of drops to be had

    Would a fry basket do the job? cut handle off and then use grate lifter or channel locks
