It feels as though we’ve waited forever for college football to start, and finally the wait is over! Check out our tailgating page for recipes that are sure to become fan favorites. As an added bonus, the day before Labor Day is National Bacon Day and we don’t know about you, but we like putting bacon on anything and everything, so we’ll definitely be celebrating that. It's time to think about getting out to one of the many #EGGfests around the country - see a list here

  • Re: OT: Apology for Mr. Charlie Tuna

I'm not going to knock the other forum and halfway understand why there is animosity. I read Gary's post over there and it seemed to be a sincere message of welcome. Brandon, don't forget that it was a doom and gloom post by WMK that he commented in. I didn't think Gary deserved the sh!tstorm he got and I let him know that. I don't know what history there is between you two but based on what I read it seems that the other forum got an aneurysm all about it. I have as many good friends over there as anyone and I won't denounce it. Anybody that knows me knows I enjoy a good cyberscrap as much as anyone but the sniping sucks. Especially for the people here that don't know about it.

That's your opinion, and cool.  I perceived it a bit differently.

Why would a sincere welcome be needed when every "original" forum member is aware of BGE's new forum?

Why would you compare both forums in that welcome?

And why in WPB's post, which seemed to be reassuring after WMK commented on change, it was the appropriate time to do it?

I agree, it is not fair for the people on here that do not know the history.  I have said what I feel I needed to say, and moved on.

    Where have I spouted hate?

And who are you to judge me?

I didn't mouth off, you made an incorrect statement.  It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out a forum that has been around longer, with eggers who have egged longer, may have a little more eggsperience and knowledge.   Coming over, and stating your "in your face" forum is better, with "more inventive and imaginative eggers" is not my idea of an olive branch.

Then, when questioned, you fold up.

  • Re: AYAYRON...

Don't sweat it Smitty.  There are several eggers, who have too much time, inclination, and desire to stir things up.  I have a hard enough time keeping up with actual eggers, let alone trolls who think they are comedians, with their cowardly monikers.

Like Hillbilly-Hightech once said, some need to get a life, go outside.  Take the negative energy, and turn it into something positiive.  Make this world a better place.

    Ben,

Great to see ya this weekend. :)

We had such a wide spread of food for the masses. B)

I will keep you informed when I hear from Jim Prescott(owner) about the fest in Sterling next year. It's a bit smaller than Peoria, but we had an excellent turnout for his first fest!

I put a good dent in the Blues Hog stock at the Schnucks on University St.

    Man, I wish I could. :(
You did it the right way. :)

Still paying off student loans from the first run.
