My first brisket sucked so I too recommend a trial run. I will say the SRF is close to a Boston Butt. Very easy and just add a good bit of salt and pepper. Nothing else needed...besides heat and smoke. Good luck.
With all the non BGE cooks being posted, here are some steaks actually cooked on the BGE for your enjoyment. Cooked down low and flipped several times so a medium rare. No cut pictures but they were awesome.
I have tried almost everything. Take off the hinge springs, loosen the bands, align and everything is perfect. Then I tighten and the top pulls back about 1/4". I finally gave up after many attempts to fix. Seems to cook/smoke just fine.
