    Oh god yes!  We bought ours to cook rice but it has turned into one of our go to gadgets. Instapot risotto is amazing. Right now, I am cooking some chickpeas for tonight's paella.  A couple of weeks ago, we made French Onion soup.

     
  • Is it me or is this year a bit nuts?

    2017 is already quite memorable. Lots of great entertainment happening in the US. We are celebrating our 150th. I am retiring next week. To boot, just bought tickets to see Jackson Browne and Tom Petty. To celebrate my last day at work next week, I am bringing a bottle of scotch, some smoked cheese and some almonds that are being cold smoked this morning. 
  • What to do when it is cold outside ...

    I do believe that Smoke + Cheese equals happiness!  Picked up a bunch of cheese last weekend and set up the egg with the amazin smoker.  Later this afternoon, I will seal these tasty morsels up.  While it will be hard to wait for a few weeks to taste, it will be really worth it!

    I have had an Anova circulator for about a year now.  I have been impressed with the results for steak, chicken and pork tenderloin.  However, it really shines in cooking vegetables -- we love cooking potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and beets.  A few weeks back, I experimented with cauliflower and tossed in some grated cheese and it was fantastic.
