Sam - sorry to get your panty's in a bunch over the sauce thread. If you read my (Flagged by you) post closely, I only mentioned that if you like "Certified" DOP San Marzano tomatoes, you should use them. I have seen the discussions about San Marzano's on other forums and am aware of the position that you take on them. The only FACT is that there are tomatoes that are "Certified" by the DOP of Italy to be San Marzano tomatoes. Where exactly those tomatoes come from may be up for discussion, but the FACT is that the DOP does CERTIFY SM's that are sold in the USA. And, just to help you out, I'm not taking the position whether they are or are not grown in the volcanic rich soil of the Mount Vesuvius region, just that a governing body CERTIFIES them. I also wanted to make the point that there are many companies out there that don't produce anything, but do label products. You didn't seem to understand that point. Do you have a position on Kobe or Wagu beef?
