    Just wondering if you came up with a solution to your Egg not getting up to temp quickly? It sounds like you have a air problem. Did you make sure your firebox is lined up with the cleaning hold? In order for the air to get through your egg the firebox has a hole in the bottom side of it, just make sure that lines up with the hole in the egg. Sorry if this has been taken care of didn't want to read through all the responses.
