I've also spent a TON of time drawing up floor plans. It's fun just to imagine. When my wife and I were shopping for a property, we drew up at least 100 different floorplans spread across 15 or more properties. Lots of simple, but efficient layouts, and a few really unique (probably impossible to build) ones.

When I used to do it, I liked working on things like minimizing hot water pipe length so you never have to wait a long time for hot water. Minimizing hallways as they are mostly just a waste of floor space. At least one drive-thru garage spot so you can easily get stuff into the backyard when you want, etc. I always liked my kitchen right off the door to the garage, so groceries didn't have to get carried any further than necessary, etc.
