These suckers were huge, I picked them up at an oriental market on the way home from work. I put them on at 450 dome for a little over ten minutes.
I'm used to one bite oysters but these things were four biters. I cooked two dozen, but after one we had to call some neighbors to help finish them. -RP

Did you put anything on them during the cook?
That looks good.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
Randy, I like oysters, but prefer them raw. Did you like the large oyster variety as much as the smaller oysters? Those are HUGE. I've never had an oyster that would take 8 bites to eat.

Those are HUGE!
Last winter a friend brought me a half sack of raw oysters from the Coast. 4 of us sat on my porch, shucked oysters and ate them raw, grilled, 'Drago's' (New Orleans chargrilled oysters- da bomb) and steamed. Along with several beers, we finished off the half sack.
I think we need a sequel to that event :woohoo: -
First time I see someone eating an oyster with knife & fork

No they were closed. -RP

I prefer them raw too but Kim was the one craving them and she likes them cooked. These were too big to physically fit them in your mouth whole. -RP
-
Had to cut them up, they were too big. -RP

Those look great! One of my favorites. We can harvest them ourselves in the Homosassa river, love'em :woohoo:

Randy,
Well done as always my friend. It is almost oyster season here in the low country of S.C. and I can not wait. I had some great ones last year and look forward to showing some off this year! -

GOOD EATS AND GOOD FRIENDS
DALE -
never tried grilling them while closed. Do they open up during cook, or do you have to pry them open after cooking?
