New rig and 4/8lb butts to do !!!

Thanks to Tom my rig should be here Friday, I have 4 8lb butts to do. Any suggestions on how to set this up, and will all 4 be done at the same time or will the top cook faster than the bottom,any help would be appreciated. I have about 30-35 people coming Saturday about 5 pm. Also going to do some pineapple with the Dizzy stuff. Thanks again

I used the following setup to make the pictured butts:

Top Butts

18" grate
Adjustable rig
Bottom Butts

18" grate
Foil-lined drip pan
Spider

For some reason, the bottom butts finished earlier.

You should be able to get four on a single level with no problem. Higher in the dome the higher the temp, 25-30 difference between grid and dome. When cooking multipuls some finish faster than others anyway.

I did the same cook about 2 weeks ago and used the spider in the bottom with the large pizza stone as my in-direct barrier then the drip pan on top of that. Worked perfect and all the butts cooked nearly the same.

You would have plenty of pork with three butts instead of four. You could just do three on one level and perhaps you can fit all four on. If you do four, plan on having a lot of leftovers. Check on the cook throughout the night to insure it doesn't go out and you have 30 people wanting to kill you.

I'm in same situation in a couple of weeks. Never done more than 2 butts. How long should it take at 225-250?
