Tomorrow will be the start of our first year of college football tailgating. We had such a good time last year when Ole Miss beat LSU, we bought our first set of season tickets and joined a tailgate group - The "Hotty Toddy Society".
I've got a jug of 'Lake Conroe Egger's' famous Bloody Mary's and a 9# butt on the large egg as I type (151* internal at 245* pit temp)
Will post some pics after we get back - staying over till Sunday.
Hotty Toddy Ole Miss ( and our 'new' quarterback -Masoli)

Enjoy Clark, I made up 8 qts for the mini fest. We will be tailgating in the rec room by the pool
-
Masoli was a good QB in a weak conference in regards to defensive play. Ever wonder why so many HS RB's decide to go to the PAC 10? I wish him the best of luck in the SEC. I really liked him as a QB at Oregon.
-
And you WILL have garnish for them!!!
-
Would that be the green bean swizzle stick?
-
Thanks buddy,, I'll get pics
-

Welcome to the brotherhood!!! Now, when you step up and build one of these you know you have made it to the big time:

Hey, Hoss!
Been watching all your gardening escapades.
Work has been murder and it has been so hot that I haven't fired up an egg since my big cook on July 5. :(
Sweet this morning - 62* here. Probably mid 50's up there :woohoo: -
Clark
Hope ya'll have a great time... I love the way it feels this morning... 60 degrees- AHHhhhhhhKent Madison MS -
Brat's and wings on the way to Papa John's stadium to see the Louisville Cardinals return back to a football team and beat the UK Wildcats.
Have pulled pork on the menu for EKU next weekend. :woohoo: -
Thanks, Kent.
Hotty Toddy :woohoo: -
My buddy (another State grad) told me Masoli was going to prison except he flunked the entrance exam!
I understand that after that he was enrolled in the honors program at Hotty Toddy U. Can you confirm?
Good luck and have fun. I sure miss going to SEC games, the PAC-10 just thinks they have rivalries. Very pretty cheerleaders, though, I'll give them that. -
Sounds like my kinda weekend, Misippi Egger! My Egg has been to every SEC football venue.
Where can I find how to make Lake Conroe Egger's bloody mary's? I LOVE a good bloody mary! -
Looking forward to the pics. Hope the game didn't ruin your fun, and I bet the food was good.
Sounds like Masoli looked good though. There is always hope. -
Tractor: You should also ask FlaPoolman (Pat) for his Bloody Mary recipe...they're awesome!! (Now that I think about it, I have asked a couple times...but I still don't have the recipe!) Hmmmph...
-
Clark: Sorry about the game! A stunner for sure. I know better than to think your full bellies made up for the disappointment. A long season is ahead, they can certainly recover. As a Gator fan, I am putting these condolences out there with hopes they may be returned. I think the Gators are facing a long season. I can still have sympathy for my other college football fans, regardless of their team. (Well, except for U of GA, FL State, Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU, etc... j/k! )
Hope you still managed to have a great day! My sympathies from a fellow die-hard college football fan. -
Pathetic football game, at least after the half, it became pathetic
Weather was perfect- not too hot, but the supposed SEC power defense failed to come out after the half!
The tailgating went well. The pulled pork got rave reviews. It was my first time to use BB Butt Rub- shoulda used a little more per my tastes, but the others loved it. Bought Sweet Baby Ray's sauce for a condiment, and Hawaiian rolls.
Next week is Tulane in New Orleans and my good friend's 50th birthday, so we are all spending the weekend in the Big Easy.
Hotty Toddy :woohoo: -
You LUCKY DOG!!!BTW,while you're there have a Lucky Dog for me!!!And Drago's ersters, and a poboy and some Hurricanes........The list goes on and on and on!!!
-
My buddy's wife have a lot of the weekend planned. Arnaud's Jazz for Friday night. A lunch place Saturday, dinner before the night game and a Sunday brunch. Not sure when I'm gonna slip away for some awesome Drago grilled oysters?
Should be lots of fun, though. I think we have 8 or 10 in the group!
BTW, do you have any comps or judgings planned for this fall? -
Not yet. It's been so freakin hot I have'nt even thought about it.Besides, hunting season is commin up so I'll be busy with that.I would like to visit the JACK and may do the Ashland gig this fall.
