So - do they live up to the hype? Saw an article in Food & Wine today - certainly they look a great eggcessory.

I like them because if you have grub on the grill and want to start, say, fruit kbobs. You can manipulate them around the food that is on the grill. Plus there is a wow factor to the guests.Molly

elzbth: We didn't care for them, but it seems most enjoy them. I didn't like how floppy they were when trying to properly turn the product for cooking, and the food particles caught in the wire were too much for me to stand. (but admittedly, I am probably OCD when it comes to sanitation).
I think the majority really like them. -
I'm a fan, only used them once though. They would be perfect for camping, tailgating. You can assemble the Firewires and marinate in a Ziploc.

I wondered about the food particles that are sure to be left behind....I'm somewhat particular about raw chicken and anything. They are relatively inexpensive though. I'll hold out for a coupon from Bed, Bath & Beyond (or a clearance sale at Williams Sonoma). Thanks!

They go on sale through woot.com fairly often.

I like the flexibility but dislike the diameter of the "lance". I didn't think it was too bad to clean - after cleaning by hand they get a spritz with a 10% solution of bleach and then in to the dishwasher.

That's a lot of food on one skewer. :P Tim

impressive looking skewers frank!

To hard to handle. Food turns on wire when you want to turn them over. Food probe end way to big too. The old fashioned way is better.
-
I don't care for them the food spins on the wire.
-
i love them and have NO problem turning them AT all.
-
I have used mine a couple times and I think there great. I would buy them again.
