What a perfect day!! 18 ladies showed up for lunch today and Mom and I wowed them on the EGGs. We did French onion soup, it was her practice run for the Fest Sat and I did grilled Romain with extras. then Bananas Foster all on the egg
both med doing the Romain
the salad. we had two of these big plates heaped. all gone.....
onions caramelizing, no pic of the finished soup :(
serving the soup. we had to cheat and do the toast and cheese in the oven.
had to explain about pictures of food.... and they already thought I was a little off....
hooking and chatting
one of the ladies finished her rug today so I thought I would share it with you. very pretty bright colors.
I think I might have had a few of them wanting more info on the eggs by the end of the day
Whoops forgot the pic of starting the Bananas foster
You can just see the pan of bubbly butter and sugar and it is almost ready for the rum and bananas to go in it.

Yumm! Good lookin' cookin'. And a rug that I'd have in a moment. They may have thought you a "little off" for taking the pics, but at least the hooking seems to have kept them from 'hemming and sighing while they waited for the food.
Ohh, and bananas Foster to finish? What a treat! Enjoy the Fest. -
Awesome use of the eggs!

Tim, I was hoping to pull enough blue crabs to pick off and do a dip with crab meat. but the weather has been so bad we have only been out once and only got 8 crabs :(
-
I'll make you a LONEY dip version if interested!!

Looks great Julie!! The hookers look like the knitters around town here. It sure is fun to share passions with others! Thanks!Molly

It is nice that so many here know about rug hooking. My wife is a rug hooking teacher and so many have no idea what she is talking about.

I would bet that is your mom in the picture, 3rd from the end. Isn't she the one on the left with her hand on her hips. Better show that to Neil, that looks just like you. Might be his future :woohoo: I wonder if she has cute little green toenails too!
