Eggs stable on flat surface?

I am making a side table for a second egg.

Is the medium egg stable sitting on a table top? Essentially, I want to build the table up to the lower shelf, but not have the top shelf with the hole in it. Is it stable with the lid open?

Does anyone else use a medium sitting on an table top?

    Richard,

I have a small on a table and it works well for me.

The egg will be stable but you need to consider:

    1. Heat...still need to use paver/etc. and feet to keep surface of table from burning.

    2. Sturdy table because the egg itself will be top heavy.
    3. Area where it won't get bumped.

    Jim,

Thanks - I will be using a paver, and the stand will be attached to the deck, so my only concern was if the egg is stable when opening the lid, etc.

I appreciate your inputs - looks like you are doing it fine with the small.

    Morning Richard:

Both of my larges (click on the link below to see the setup) are basically sitting "free standing" on a platform and I have never had any problems with stability.

    Have a GREAT day!
