Saw coloradocook and his tabletop from yesterdays post....nice! Lots of posts about cracking, but i've had good luck w/ mine so far. I've done a few kitchens, bathrooms, and egg tables and so far have had no call backs concerning cracks. I have seen other tops with spiderweb cracks, but lends to the beauty of the concrete. Sparky, you about ready?!!

Do you use anyones bag mix, Chen or Buddy, or create your own?
-
I've used qwikcrete 5000 and have made my own. Bagged concrete is much easier, but limits color choices. Making your own batch takes a lot of trial and error, but you can use grey or white cement and different color aggrigates to come up with wild color combos.

I just looked at your profile and see concrete is what you do. I work for a company in Phx., and we deal primarily with decorative concrete products. (I'm not sure what part of the country your in.) So i'm very familiar with countertops. I've done mucho grinding/ polishing for samples and demos. It's alot of work but you can come out with some really nice stuff.

Hey Brett-
I'm in athens, ga. Not a big market for these tops here, but atlanta just down the road. I've wanted to try some of the bagged mix (buddy or cheng) but hard to find around here. White Cap can order it for me, but have to buy a whole pallet before they'll order it. At $70/per bag , I'll keep on doing what I'm doing!

Athens is a great place. Been there twice and had a great time. An old girlfriend from h.s. went to school there. This was back in the early 80's. Went to a Ga., I believe it was S.C. game and had a ball. Back to the countertops, drop me your address if you want, and I'll send you out a binder. Brett@cohills.com is my work e-mail. Or our website is cohills.com I'll send you a bag of our mix to play with if you like.

Brett-
e-mailing you right now. Yeah- send me some info! I'd like to see it. If shipping is costly on the mix, i'll cover it, but i'd sure appreciate it!
