10# at wal-mart $ 5.28

I have both 10# and 20# bags of Royal Oak and have even seen 8.8# bags. Never seen anything but 10# at Wally World and here it's $5.27.Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

I just bought six bags yesterday in N. TX, same poundage and price. I checked, sutff said made in america. Twww.ceramicgrillstore.com ACGP, Inc.
-
I believe the RO bags out here are 8# and price is between $6.75 and $8.75
Cowboy out here in the west is 8# @ $6.75.

I have been getting mine at Menards. They have the 8.8 lbs bags priced at $4.64.
-
Just found some at a local wal-mart. Apparently, they do not carry the same stock as another 3 miles away! 10# bag is $5.20, so that is half the price of BGE thru bbq galore.

I get the 8.8# bags at the local supermarket for around $4.50 or so.

GG..you like the cowboy?...Lowe's here carries it and it's cheaper than the RO at wally world..never tried it though...
-
I didn't get much of the Cowboy but it was fine. It didn't seem to impart as much smoke flavor in the food, but that would be a plus for some people or some bread cookin.
It seemed odd to me to see a lot of floring material, but that is wood too.
I am going to pick up a few more bags of Cowboy next week and do some bread making with it.

excelent price. I will need to see if our walmart will price match.

What we have learned about Wal-mart in San Diego is that they set their prices based on the demographics of the area Wal-mart. We have seen prices from $7.75 for a 10 # bag of Royal Oak in a high income area to $5.27 for a
10# bag in a lower income area. We inquired about the difference in price and that was their answer. We buy it for $5.27 for 10#'s. -
why are you surprised it was flooring scraps? That's what Cowboy is - scraps from wood plants making flooring, moulding, chair rails, banisters etc plus what ever else employees throw in the "scrap" bins if you get my drift!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.

LOL... I know that now but I didn't know that back in 'my' beginning days...
-
That is a good thought. We have a lot of Walmarts out there and it seems things are priced differently depending on which end of town one goes to.
I need to check that out a little more before buying my next load.
Thanks for posting, GG -
I was in Wegmans last weekend and picked up a 10 pound bag of Wegmans lump for 4.64. That is a record low for these parts. I would have stocked up but I never used it before and only had a vague memory that that TNW reported it was Royal Oak . Well the bag is empty and if it is RO it was a good bag lots of big pieces. Tomorrow I'll stock up .

LOWES has Cowboy for just over 5 bucks a bag
-
I have that approx. 50cent per pound on the Royal Oak at Wally World and Menards. The BGE brand is about double that.
I am on my third cook in three days and figure I should be able to go a full week on 10 pounds from the looks of it. This seems pretty economical to me. -
