My butcher routinely puts all sorts of things on "Manager's Special" Here are a couple from this past Friday. First, I've never done veal, but it was too good to pass up. Right beside it were Angus NY Strips (small), but near prime at worst for $6.99 a pound with one a bit higher that I bought today.
The veal was great!

My HEB is great, too! The butchers and chefs their are always helpful, and I can usually walk right in and request a Flat Iron, and they'll cut it fresh. You guys get the good pricing in your store--the natural/prime cuts that didn't find homes while under the glass are $8.48/lb here in Round Rock, which is still better than the $13-16/lb they ask when the cuts are under the glass.

Me too! I love being able to pull all of the ribeye and NY strip out of the bargin bin at half price or less because no one is grilling this time of year. All the gassers are still snuggled up under their covers while my BGE is working hard in the cold.
