I have been cookign pizza at about 600 degrees and once up to temp. I let the stone heat for about 30 min. they have been turning out good and have not stuck to the stone....yet. Thansk for all your help

captaindcb, Protect your hands & arms and learn how to "burp" the Egg before fully opening when it's really hot (partially open & quickly shut the lid a few times)![p]Rascal

captaindcb,[p]To be honest, I am in the minority who don't like Wicked Good Charcoal. I find it difficult to light and keep lit. I'd be willing to bet if you used a different lump you'd see an improvement in the temps you can attain.[p]Tonia

Thanks..... the last Charcoal I bought was the BGE lump and that didnt seem to get any hotter.

Morro Bay Rich, Through each hole individually, you'll feel the lump move out of the way. If you wiggle the whole grid, it'll probably tip and now you've got no way to straighten it out without taking out all the lump and starting over. Not recommended!

I was just going to say the same thing. Flames out the top, has to be hotter then 610.
