<p />I found that by loosening the bolt on this spring tab a bit when the egg is closed, the spring pressure will pull the tab back towards the rear of the egg. This vastly reduced my rear gap. Re-tighten of course. Still get a good spring assist with the tab in less then the vertical position as shown. I did this with the intent of re-aligning the top lid with the bottom, as the top was pulled back from the bottom a bit. I was surprised to see the gap get reduced too.
