Think of building a covered outdoor kitchen away from the house, over to the side, instead of being connected so it won't block the inside views of the property.maybe a 40 foot walk. With a fire pit and hangout area in-between . what are yalls thoughts.

If you have all the utilities and a place to eat it would be cool. Bad weather may be the only problem if you want to egg and it's too bad to hang out.
-
Is this for the new house you will be moving in to? I would recommend getting settled in there first and egging for a while then seeing what works in terms of location and distance etc.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

I've been working on a small one for the back yard nothing real fancy but a place for the egg, the gas grill and the fish cooker. Built the stand for the cooker this week will start on the egg table across the back next then a bar/counter on the end. It's next to a small raised bed that will get the herbs and tomato's in the spring. There will be a small Koi pound on the left when done.Niceville, Fl

@Randall_Lee That's a nice cooking area. I'm plans on doing the same. Something I can do in stages.2-XLs ,MM,blackstone,Ooni koda 16,R&V works 8.5 gallon fryer, express smoker and 40" smoking cajun

I have exactly what you are describing. Absolutely love it. Pool to right of where I was standing taking the picture and house behind.

@Brddog That's exactly what I'm talking about. I really like that. How much do you think it would be money wise for materials for the structure ?If you dont mind me asking.2-XLs ,MM,blackstone,Ooni koda 16,R&V works 8.5 gallon fryer, express smoker and 40" smoking cajun

I have probably $10k in materials including concrete pad and poured concrete countertops. You could likely go cheaper on materials but i had all cedar shipped in for the posts, support beams, rafters and cabinet doors.
-
@Brddog how big is that covered space? That's pretty darn close to what I have in mind.
-
Very nice guys. Here's mine right out back door.
-
@Brddog looks great. I want that with a tin roof :-bdColumbia, SC --- LBGE 2011 -- MINI BGE 2013

@theyolksonyou it is 15' x 20'.
@Chubbs a tin roof would look awesome.
Here are a couple other pictures. The first is just after finished. You can see how the counter top runs. This is all one pour of concrete. There is a fire pit to the left when looking at it and I mounted the tv so it will swivel towards fire pit or around so I can watch while cooking.

Wow all of these are really amazing. We have zero lot lines in our neighborhood and very little space. Would love to have a "station" at some point. Currently rocking a nest and egg mates. Works for now but can already see where I need more space.LBGE - Nov/'14A Texan residing in Denver, CO.

I built a 24*30 garage with a 8ft. Porch on 3 sides .Equips with propane stove and ref. And all my other cooking equip., it's about 200ft from the house.I can also do work in there on my vehicles or woodworking.when it comes to having a big cookout I just slide stuff out the way.when cooking for the wife and my self it's sort of a pain, hauling everything around.I also have water there also.if you can afford to do it, go for cause you can't take it with you.
-
After looking I think I'm gonna build a 20x20 awning on the back of the house. Hot water, water drain, electric, and natural gas all right super close. I want shop for working on cars someday also.2-XLs ,MM,blackstone,Ooni koda 16,R&V works 8.5 gallon fryer, express smoker and 40" smoking cajun
