Smoked Pickles? Anyone have a recipe
I was talking to a group of friends and we for some reason we go to talking about appetizers and I was raving about my obsession with the Fried Pickle chips at Hooters (its the only thing I like there), and someone mentioned smoked pickles were the best thing they have ever eaten as far as pickle appetizers...
anyone ever tried this before? if so, can you share a recipe/technique?

Thanks, hopefully he pulls through. Really want to try this.

Yep, I'm thoroughly intriqued now. I'll be watching with interest.
Am I crazy, or did someone have bacon wrapped pickles on here a while back (maybe a trial run for Salado)?

The only thing you like at Hooters is the Fried Pickles?I also like these....
-
maybe in Texas the Hooters girls look like that... in Va...they look like this...
But Im with you, Id like those a lot more than fried pickles

@Black_Badger-you are correct-and it was @henapple that drilled out some dills, packed them with cheese and then wrapped in bacon and cooked til the bacon was done. Following his idea I made a batch and they were quickly consumed by two mid 20's sons. I think I cooked them indirect at around 350*F. Hopefully Mr PBR will be along to set us all straight.
Found the link to the original thread: caught in...or with a pickle

@smak these look awesome! ill definitely give these a go. what exactly is egg wash?
-
Egg wash is just an egg and about 2 Tbsp of water or milk to thin it out. Mix well.
you will want to setup 3 dishes for the breading. 1) flour 2) egg wash 3) panko. Just assembly line the pickles through.
Also, I like Claussen brand pickles.smak
