Headed to Wegman's in the morning to get the stuff I need for Christmas Eve and Christmas day... Going to the BIL's on Christmas Eve so I am going to do a couple racks of ribs to cut up for apps.
Christmas dinner will be a repeat of one I did over the summer; except this time the roast will be right sized for the crowd
Doing a bone in rib roast, double stuffed potatoes, mushrooms, and likely Brussels sprouts.
Hope it turns out well....
Still have our shopping to do; my wife and I are going on Monday when the MIL can watch Elise for a few hours. We luckily are both basically off till the new year and we are looking forward to relaxing a little.
Hope everyone has a great weekend to kick off holiday week!

Merry Christmas Hap, hope you and the family have a great couple weeks together.I raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

Well I'm back from the store...
Didn't get the beef, talking with the butcher, I'm going to wait until Monday morning and have them cut it for me so it will be fresher for Christmas dinner...
Got a bunch of stuff for cooking today... doing a ton of chicken breasts, got two 10 packs of thick breasts that I'll likely cut in half before cooking. I will have some for tonight's dinner and the rest will be cut up and food saved for future meals. I picked up a couple of steaks for tonight as well. For veggies, going to do Brussels sprouts and for the first time, roasting some butternut squash.
Going to try and make Rattlesnake Tails today(maybe tomorrow) as well...

Hapster, is your Wegmans doing the dry-aged prime ribs? I might splurge on one.

Yes... I think they're $26/pound. I am on the fence depending on how many I'm having for dinner LOL. Though I have had Choice and CAB beef from Wegmans that I would have considered prime grade based on the results of cooking it on the egg...Hapster, is your Wegmans doing the dry-aged prime ribs? Wegmans in Mechanicsburg, PA had the dry aged, prime CAB prime rib roasts for $26.99/pound. Tried to sneak one into the cart, but when the Mrs. saw the $245 price tag, it went back into the case.
