    My daughters made me go on it's a small world about 15 times. I swear that is some sort of brain washing device.

  • Looks awesome. I am wanting to take my kid but he just turned 4. Deciding whether to wait until 5 (earliest  would take him) or even a bit older. How old is your daughter? I want to have balance where he will love and have fun (not too old) and maybe even remember some of it (not to young)
    You guys stayed at one of the disney resorts? how would that compare to staying at an off-site hotel?
    Boom

    @FanofFanboys

    Elise is 9 and we thought about the same things you are mulling over. I think 5 may be a little young. YMMV

    We stayed at the All American Music Resort in the park. I'm sure the price was a little better for our package. Not fancy, but very clean and super service. If you want, PM me and I'll give you the info for the woman who set our whole trip up, she did a great job and we will be recommending her to friends as well as using her again.

    I highly recommend staying on Disney grounds for a Disney vacation. If doing a Univeral vacation stay at their hotels. We did the I-drive hotels and I'm not a big fan of them. ;;)

    I agree with staying on the Disney grounds. More expensive but worth it to me to not have to travel each day to get to where you want to go. Also, the more you can afford as far as the Disney resorts go, the less people there will be at that resort. It was nice not having to fight the crowds at the resort after fighting them all day at the parks.

    Great pics and I'm surprised you actually did get to see any blue skies.  The weather's been pretty miserable lately, and we always think of people here on vaca during those times.

    Thanks... the skies were good for our stay, at least from a photography pov :) Never did adjust to the higher humidity though :)

    Here are some more... Round 3

    I apologize if there are too many. Figured I would share them in one thread instead of multiple ones. I know there are quite a few photography buffs and those interested in photography on here. At least you can see what the RX100 is capable of and it's ease of use vs bringing a bunch of gear. It allowed me to capture memories as well as enjoy being in the moment to without getting in the way...

    Anyway here are some more from our day at Universal

    Tough to see in the window; a polarizing filter would have corrected that, is a plant called a mandrake from the Harry Potter story. We used to tease Elise when she would have her hair in a ponytail on the top of her head that she looked like one :)

    Yes we did... I think that might be the only way to go. Really easy, the food is very good and the portions good sized as well. I think we left with 3 snacks of the plan unclaimed.

    A Christmas trip sounds really cool!

  • I was really leary of going and being trapped without a vehicle. I caved and stayed on grounds and did the meal plan and it's the way to go. We have since been back and enjoyed it even more. My youngest is only 17 months but can't wait to take her. Thanks for sharing...brought back some great memories. Looks like you guys had a blast.

    @HorseMover

    Really liked not having to worry about parking, or having glass of wine with dinner, beers and brats in Germany (Epcot)

    The meal plan was great and we had a fantastic time. Already talking about the next trip

    That's great... from what we were told the crowds begin to build around Thanksgiving and into the holidays. For our trip, our travel person has been there over 70 times, and laid out a plan for the best times to see what etc. The longest we waited for any ride was maybe 15-20min. The were plenty of people, but I could see that it was far from crowded...

    Just keep your patience in check and remind yourself that you're at the happiest place on Earth LOL
