Drip pan for XL

What do you guys use for a drip pan, on top of your placesetter in an XL.  Been cobbing one and this weekend hand a epic fail cooking butts.  Huge grease fire and ruined the meat I was cooking for nephews graduation.

Please let me know what size or brand you use.

    I have a large, and used to use a cake pan.  After the second cake pan failed, i started just placing a piece of thin aluminum foil across the egg, and slightly turning the edge up.  The drippings hit the foil and evaporate -- yes, this causes smoke, but i think it adds to the flavor.  At the end of the cook, i remove the grid, and with tongs wad up the foil, let it cool and dispose of it.  Been using this method for a couple of years - works for me.  Platesetters stays clean, and i have no grease dripping into the fire.

    I have a 13.5" drip pan that I got from the ceramic Grill Store ( You could probably use the 16".

    I found a stainless 18" pan with very little edge on it @ Restaurant Depot for about 5 or 6 dollars.
    Put foil under it and build up an edge.

    Or you can buy the 18" from Ceramic Grill store as mentioned above.  I have the 16" and did not see the 18" or I would've gone with that.  18 covers the place setter perfectly.

    Now thats a shame!!  Couldn't you salvage some of it??  And that will produce a heck  a lot of grease..
  • Costco sells 10 disposible baking tins for about $8.  Works for me.
